What We Did
Conducted a comprehensive assessment of an existing cloud-based reporting platform to evaluate limitations and future analytics needs.
Facilitated collaborative workshops with technical staff to identify reporting requirements and align visualization strategies with business goals.
Prototyped and refined modern dashboards to replace static, tabular reporting with interactive, user-friendly designs.
Implemented Azure Databricks and Tableau for scalable data processing, advanced visualization, and self-service datasets.
The Challenge
A national transportation and equipment leasing company had recently migrated its core systems to the Azure cloud and implemented DOMO as its primary reporting platform. While the system initially supported basic analytics needs, the rapid growth of the business quickly revealed DOMO’s limitations. The platform lacked the flexibility and scalability required to handle increasingly complex analytics and reporting demands, leaving leadership without the visibility they needed to make timely, data-driven decisions.
As reporting inefficiencies multiplied, the company faced growing frustration among stakeholders who required deeper insights to manage operations and future growth. Leadership recognized the need for a detailed evaluation of its analytics environment, guidance on alternative platforms, and expert support to adopt modern best practices for dashboard design and implementation.
Lifescale Analytics’ Solution
Lifescale Analytics conducted a comprehensive assessment of the company’s existing systems and future requirements to identify the most effective path forward. Our team evaluated multiple alternatives, including Microsoft’s Azure Data Fabric ecosystem with Power BI and Tableau’s visualization suite, ultimately recommending a hybrid Azure Databricks and Tableau approach that offered the right balance of cost-effectiveness, scalability, and advanced functionality.
To drive adoption and ensure alignment, we facilitated a series of collaborative workshops with technical and business stakeholders. During these sessions, our consultants prototyped new dashboards, refined visualizations for clarity and usability, and incorporated direct user feedback into iterative improvements. This collaborative approach not only delivered modern, visually rich dashboards but also built organizational confidence in using data as a decision-making tool. By embedding best practices for dashboard design, DevOps processes, and data governance, the company transitioned from static tabular reports to an agile, self-service analytics culture capable of scaling with future growth.
